This year's event will include the 8th. annual running of the Blue Ash Airport Days 5k Fun Run/Fitness Walk. The famous pancake breakfast . Race winners will take a helicopter ride. The scenic course around the outside of the airport property is mildly hilly and very scenic. WHEN: Saturday, September 19, 2009
START TIME: Runners begin at 8:00 AM; fitness walkers at 8:01 AM. DISTANCE: 5K(3.1 miles). The event is Sanctioned and Certified by USA Track & Field (Certificate # OH 08047PR). COURSE: New for 2009. The course will be in the same as last year except that this year, we will go the opposite direction (Clockwise). Loop course will circle the Airport. View Course Map on USATF website. (Certified: # OH 08047PR). The 2009 course will start near the Wingate Inn and go east on Glendale Milford Rd -- then Right on Reed Hartman Highway--then Right on Cooper--then Right on Plainfield past the golf course through the rolling hills behind the airport and the then turn Ritght on Glendale Milford to the Finish Line in front of the Wingate Inn. BENEFICIARIES: The 2009 Race benefits Honor Flight Tri-State. Honor Flight Tri-State is a Cincinnati,OH based non profit organization created to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans WW II survivors along with those other veterans that may be terminally ill.. Introducing the new TEAM CHALLENGE for 2009: We will have a prize for the team with the most runners and also a prize for the one that raises the most money ( no matter how the they place in the race ). See the back of your race form for further details. All Team Challenge runners/ walkers must register together to be eligable for the Team Challenge Prize. EMAIL ADDRESS:
All Pre-registered entries that include a valid email address will receive an
email confirmation of registration prior to the race and will receive their individual
results via email. PACKET PICK UP & LATE REGISTRATION: Packet pickup is scheduled
for September 18 at the new Running Spot store in Glendale -267 E. Sharon
Rd from 10:00am - 7:00pm. Late registration is available at the store
too -- only $25. Race Day registration begins at 6:30 at the Wingate
Inn across from the airport -- $25. AWARDS: Win a helicopter ride for TWO! Top overall male and female finishers will each Win a Helicopter ride for TWO at Airport Days. Additionally, the top 3 male/female runners and the top male/female walker in each age division will receive a special award. To qualify for walking awards, participant MUST WALK the entire race. HELICOPTER RIDES: Are available for purchase throughout the day. Tickets are only $40. If you have never been in a helicopter, this is an inexpensive way to experience the thrill. AWARDS CEREMONY: Immediately following the Race RESULTS: Complete Results will be posted online at www.Runningtime.net (here) following the race. RUN DIVISIONS: 15 and under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ WALK DIVISIONS: 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60/over. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: All Registrants receive a free ticket to the pancake breakfast following the 5k. (Includes sausage, bananas, juice and coffee.) Additional breakfast tickets - $5.
