The 1st Annual Surge for Scholarships
event is intended to promote health and fitness in the community and to help
raise money for scholarships for deserving Cincinnati State students. The event
will include the Surge for Scholarships 5K Run/Walk, a Fun Run for Kids and
a Post-Race Celebration.

Purpose: To promote health and fitness in the community and to help raise money for scholarships for deserving Cincinnati State students. With over 9,000 students, many of whom are first-generation college students, financial need is great. Despite one of the most affordable college tuitions in the region, over 70% of Cincinnati State students depend on some type of financial assistance. Proceeds will generate dollars that will help a deserving Cincinnati State student get the education and training that has made the name of Cincinnati State synonymous with workforce development. Course: Challenging 3.1 mile starts and finishes at the College
and winds through scenic Clifton and Clifton Hills neighborhoods. Assemble
on the front lawn of the Advanced Technology & Learning Center. Run Divisions: 14/under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44,
45-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70/over. Walk Divisions: 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-60, 70/over. Awards: Top male and female runners and walkers. Age group awards
to the top 15% of each run/walk division (based on pre registration).
Awards presented immediately following the race/walk. Post Race Celebration: Refreshments, food, music, games and other entertainment will be provided. FREE Kids run after the race with goodies for all finishers. Enjoy the grounds and tour the facilities. Lots of door prizes will be given out randomly. email addresses: Race confirmation and individual race results
will be emailed to all entrants with valid email addresses. Pre-Registration: $20 includes t-shirt and post-race party. Registration should be postmarked by October 13th. Special $15 Rate for enrolled Cincinnati State Students. Must
register in advance at Advanced Technology & Learning Center, Rm.

Race day registration and check-in: Begins at 7:30 am. $25 per
person including post-race party and t-shirt (while supplies last). Assemble
on the front lawn of the Advanced Technology & Learning Center. Parking: Ample Free parking on Campus at the Central Parkway garage (Corner of Central Parkway and Ludlow).
