The Freedom Run, as part of BRIDGES Walk for a Just Community, continues to be an inspiring event that brings together diverse groups of people in support of the youth programs of BRIDGES for a Just Community. The Walk will be held at the Sawyer Point, Yeatman's Cove & is Cincinnati's most inclusive Walk event & we're expecting over 2,000 walkers & runners!

Course - New Course for 2009: Scenic 5 kilometer course begins and ends at Yeatman's Cove at Sawyer Point Park. Cross the Ohio via Purple People Bridge, tour Newport and return via the Taylor Southgate Bridge. View PDF of the Course Map.

Race Divisions: 12/under, 13-18,19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70/over. Sorry, no walking divisions.

Awards: Overall Male and Overall Female Runner and Top 15% in each age group based on pre-registration.

Post-Race: After the Walk and Run, we'll have food, drinks and entertainment from local dance troupes, choirs, and other artists. This celebration is truly a display of the rich ethnic and cultural compilation of our region.

Directions: I-71 or I-75 to Downtown Cincinnati. Sawyer Point is on the Riverfront just east of the Great American Ballpark.

About the BRIDGES Walk that follows the Race:

The 11th Annual Walk for a Just Community will take place on October 24th, 2009. The Walk will be held at the Sawyer Point, Yeatman's Cove & is Cincinnati's most inclusive Walk event & we're expecting over 2,000 walkers & runners!

Additional support from our sponsors including GE, The Zaring Family Foundation, Xavier University, Corken Steel Products Company, University of Cincinnati, The Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati, and the Kroger Company, our goal is this year to raise $190,000 for our programs.
