What is The Great Race?
It is a fun-packed, exciting and adventurous race that offers up to 13 different challenges for men, women and families in the scenic countryside of Potter's Ranch. There are two people per team except those competing in the family division, which consists of three or more family members. Challenges include mental, physical and humor-packed activities that promise a day of laughter and exertion. The course is completed by running/walking and biking to different challenges, then completing each challenge. Your start time will be posted on this website the week of the race. You will need to arrive at Potter's Ranch between 11-12 noon regardless of your start time due to parking restraints.

Where is this race? It is located at Potter's Ranch in Union, KY, a privately owned Christian retreat center offering guided ropes courses, horseback riding and camping throughout the year. Please visit http://www.pottersranch.org to learn more.

How long is the race? Race starts at 1PM. This is a heat-start type race so your start time will begin anywhere from 1-2:30 PM. Completion of the race will vary from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. You can anticipate running/walking a total of 2 miles and biking 2.5 miles. You must bring your own bike.

What are the teams? The Open Division team consists of male/male, female/female or male/female with a minimum age of 8 years old. The Family Division team consists of at least three or more in the same family. Minimum age in this division is at the discretion of the family, however, everyone must be able to walk/run and ride on their own.

Will there be awards? The top three teams from each category in the Open Division and top three teams in Family divisions will receive an award.

What is the cost? The cost is $110.00 per two person team for the first 100 teams; $120 per two person team for the remaining 100 teams. Race will be capped this year to 200 teams in the Open Division. Family Division: $150 per family of 3 with $10 for each additional family member for first 25 teams; $160 per family of 3 with $10 for each additional family member for next 25 teams. Family Division will be capped this year to 50 teams. So sign up now by going to www.runningtime.net!

Where do I pick up my packet? Packet pick up will be on Saturday, September 15 from 8 am- 10:30 am and Wednesday evening, September 19 from 5-8 PM at Chick-fil-A on Houston Road in Florence, KY. A friend may pick up your packet if you are unable to. For directions to Chick-fil-A: http://www.cfarestaurant.com/houstonroad/home.

What time should we arrive at the race? Between 11 am-12 noon. This is because all roads in the ranch will shut down by 12:45; you will also need extra time to park, take a shuttle to the check-in area from parking, check-in and get to the starting line. Feel free to bring family or friends but they will need to arrive between 11 am-12 noon as well. There will be activities for the kids and a music for the adults while waiting for the race to start.

When is the Online Registration dead-line? Saturday, September 8, 2012 by 11:59 PM.

Where do I mail my mail-in registration? Your mail-in registrations should be post marked by September 3, 2012. Please send your mail-in registrations to: Greg McCormick, 10119 Crosier Lane, Cincinnati, OH, 45242.
