Newtown 5K- 34th Annual 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 8:30 am

Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, OH.

Organized by St. John Fisher Church and the Newtown Civic League


3.1 miles over residential streets. Relatively flat. Splits at every mile. First aid and water on the course. Begins and ends at Moundview Park.

Male and female runners divisions for the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over.

Male and female walkers divisions for the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over. Walkers will have a separate start. If you sign up as a walker, you must start with the walkers and you must walk the entire distance (No running allowed).


Awards to the top 3 finishers in all divisions. Special awards to overall male and female runner and walker, and first Newtown male and female runner and walker. A separate award will be given for corporate team competition. Awards Ceremony after the race.

Race Results: Results will be posted online at www.Runningtime.net (here) following the race.

Chip Timing:

This year's race will be chip timed with Ipico shoe tags (chips). All Times will be read electronically. You do not have to have a tag to participate but you must have a tag to receive a time. To receive a time, you must attach shoe tag to your shoe. Click here to see photo of properly attached shoe tag. No tag, no time! Shoe tags will be distributed on race-day only. Tags are re-useable and will be collected at the finish line. If you are given a tag, you must agree to return it for re-use.

Corporate Team Competition:

A separate award will be given for corporate team competition. A corporate team sponsorship of $175 will cover a maximum of seven runners. Please submit team competitions together by mail.


Youthland Academy Kids Fun Run:

FUN RUN FOR KIDS Race will be after the 5K Run. Free of charge with ribbons to all participants

Registration Cost:

Pre-registration is $20. This includes a free commemorative T-shirt through August 1, 2016. After August 1, 2016, the cost for race participation is $20 and T-shirt is $10 extra. After August 10, 2016, registration fee will be $25 plus $10 for optional t-shirts. A corporate team sponsorship of $175 will cover a maximum of 7 runners including t-shirts.

Register Online:

Online-registration available for $20 through Wednesday, August 10, 2016. A small service fee will apply. Register by 8/1/16 to get a free t-shirt.

Late online registration will be available from Thursday through Friday at 7:00 pm for $25.
