Description

The Powder Keg 5K Trail Race is presented by Deerfield Township and the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance. All proceeds benefit the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance toward future arts programming.

Course
Scenic course explores the trails of the Historic Kings Mansion. Course will be fun and challenging. You will do a loop that will take you to down near the Little Miami River. Follow along the river on the old abandoned King Road. Explore an old dam. Make your ascent to the top via a series of steps. Then, you will explore the north side of the park trails. Follow around some ballfields and then the final push to the finish. View course Map.
Divisions

Run - Men & Women: 14/under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70/over.

Walk - Men & Women 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60/over

Awards

Awards: Cash Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) Men and Women overall finishers: 1st - $75; 2nd - $50; 3rd - $25.

Top male and female runner will receive a free pair of trail shoes courtesy of the ASICS and The Running Spot

Age Group awards will be presented immediately after the race based on the above divisions.

Door Prizes chosen at random. One pair of trail shoes will be given out by random drawing. Must be present to win. No duplicates please.

After the Race/Extras

Awards Ceremony following the race. Refreshments will be provided including hot dogs and ice cream and drinks

Bring the Kids There will be a Kid Art Activity Tent to keep the kids occupied.
Dirt Days Trail Series The Powder Keg 5K Trail Run is a is apoints qualifier for the 2011 Dirt Days Trail Series. This is a unique series of trail events in the Greater Cincinnati area. It includes combining your performances in various events to see who are the Dirtiest Dozen men and women. Bob Roncker's Running Spot is happy to put on these slightly different events for the local running community. Run one race or sign up for the series and run them all! Pre-Registration fee is $10 per person.

Powder Keg T-shirts are available for $10 while supplies last. View T-shirt logo here. Pre-register if you know you want one. Shirt not guaranteed after Thursday, August 16, 2012.

Register by mail. Print a PDF Race Flyer and mail or Print a non PDF Entry Form and mail. This is the cheapest way to go. Registration should be postmarked by Monday, August 22, 2011.

There is no early packet pick up for this race. Late registration and packet pick up will take place on race day.

Race day registration and number pick up: Begins at 7:30 am. $15 per person ($10 T-shirts while supplies last).

This event is underwritten by Deerfield Township and not the Running Spot. Therefore, we cannot accept $10 Running Spot vouchers for this event. Save them for the remaining Dirt Days Events.

Kings Mansion is located on King Avenue just North of Kings Island.

I-71 to Kings Mills Exit. Go East past Columbia. Kings Mills turns into King Ave. Mansion is on the Left.

Ample Free parking at Kings Elementary next door.
