Bring Rover down to Lunken Playfield for the return of this Classic event. Join your fellow dog lovers for a 2-mile run or 1-mile fun walk held to raise money for homeless and stray pets in Cincinnati. This event is part of the "Barktoberfest" festival and includes Games, Prizes, Food, Live Music by the Stray Dog Band, Pet-Owner Look Alike Contest, Pet Trick Contest, Agility and Obedience Demos, Pet Psychic, Grooming, Pet Sketch Artist, Pet Adoptions, Halloween Costume Contest and more. Course is flat and fast. Mostly on grass. One loop for walk and two loops for run. |

Entry Fee: $25 per dog, $30 Race-day. All Entries receive a "Doggie Bag" that includes a T-shirt (guaranteed for all pre-registered), race number, bandanna, treats, scooper bag, and free entrance to all "Barktoberfest" activities. Water will be provided as well as post-race treats for you and your friend. Entry to "Barktoberfest" for non-registered runners is $5. Kids 10 and under are free. |

Registration Information |
Online Registration: Register online with a credit card is available at GetMeRegistered.com through Friday, 9/12/08. This is the easiest way to go. A small service charge will be added to your fee. Click here to Register Online. Mail-in Registration: Mail an entry form with a check for $25. This is your cheapest option. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Monday, 9/8/2008. Print a PDF Race flier here. Register on Race-Day: Come to Lunken on race day and register in person. Cost is $30. Registration/Packet pickup will begin at 8:30 A.M. at the Spirit of '76 Shelter. |

After the Race
|
Stay for the Awards Ceremony immediately following the race. We will hve a Pet Trick contest and Dog-Owner Look-alike contest. Winners will be judged by audience applause. Prizes for the winners. Other "Barktoberfest" activities will continue throughout the day and will include Games, Prizes, Food, Live Music by the Stray Dog Band, Agility and Obedience Demos, Pet Grooming, Pet Sketch Artist, Pet Adoptions, Fashion Parade and Contest. Divisions
|
2-mile Race Divisions: Small Dog (up to 15 lbs.), Medium Dog (16-39 lbs) and Large Dog (40 lbs. and over). The 1-Mile Fun Walk is non-competitive and has no divisions. |
| Awards | Awards to the top 3 male and female winners in each division of the 2-mile Race.. Special prizes for contest winners as well. |
| Awards Ceremony | After the race along with competitions listed above. |

| Special Requirements | 1. All dogs must be licensed and current with Rabies and Distemper-Parvo vaccinations. If your dog is not current, you will be asked to leave. Proof may be requested. We don't want to hound you about this. 2. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times (no extendable leashes please). 3. One dog per human is allowed. 4. You may run or walk your dog. Walking may be best for some dogs. 5. Both you and your dog should be properly conditioned for this event. Our Veterinarian suggests that dogs be at least 6 months old to participate. 6. You may not carry your dog while running. 7. Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog (or human) whose behavior is deemed to dangerous to others. 8. Clean up after your dog.
