Description

Bring Rover down to Otto Armleder Park for this Classic event. Join your fellow dog lovers for a 2-mile run or 1-mile fun walk held to raise money for homeless and stray pets in Cincinnati. This event includes Prizes, Food, Pet-Owner Look Alike Contest, Pet Trick Contest, and more.

Course

Course is flat and fast. New course for 2012.

Divisions

2-mile Race Divisions: Small Dog (up to 15 lbs.), Medium Dog (16-39 lbs) and Large Dog (40 lbs. and over) and 1-Mile Fun Walk.

Divisions are based on Size of dog and gender of owner. eight divisions in all.

Awards Ceremony After the race along with competitions listed above.

After the Race

 

Stay for the Awards Ceremony immediately following the race. We will also have a Pet Trick contest and Dog/Owner look alike contest. Winners will be judged by Janeen Coyle of WGRR. Prizes for the winners. Dogs not participating in the Dog Jog are welcome to participate in post-race events for a $5 fee.

Barktoberfest

The Dog Jog is part of Barktoberfest, an all-day festival for you and your dog.

Special appearances by WGRR's Janeen Coyle and their remote van, Frisch's Big Boy, K9 Police Dog, along with various dog rescue groups and vendors!

Schedule of events: 8:30 Registration - 9:45 Blessing of the dogs - 10:00 Race 2 mile - 10:30 Walk 1 mile - 11:00 Prizes and Trophies Awarded to Dog Jog Winners - 11:30 Dog/Owner Look-alike & Stupid Pet Tricks Contest - 12:30 Halloween Parade and Costume Contest - 1:30 Doggie Games, Including: Best Kisser, Treat Catcher, Musical Mats, Bobbin for Wieners.

Entry Fee

Entry Fee: $25 per dog/owner combination if pre-registered, $30 Race-day. All Entries receive a "Doggie Bag" that includes a T-shirt (guaranteed for all pre-registered), race number, bandanna, treats and scooper bag.

T-Shirts Guaranteed for all pre-registered entries. Supplies may be limited on race-day.

Registration

Online Registration: Register online with a credit card through Thursday, October 4, 2012. A small service charge will be added to your fee.

Mail-in Registration: Mail an entry form with a check for $25. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Monday, October 1, 2012.

Register on Race-Day: Come to Armleder Park on race day and register in person. Cost is $30. Registration/Packet pickup will begin on Sunday at 8:30 A.M.

Special Requirements 1. All dogs must be licensed and current with Rabies and Distemper-Parvo vaccinations. If your dog is not current, you will be asked to leave. Proof may be requested. We don't want to hound you about this. 2. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times (no extendable leashes please). 3. One dog per human is allowed. 4. You may run or walk your dog. Walking may be best for some dogs. 5. Both you and your dog should be properly conditioned for this event. Our Veterinarian suggests that dogs be at least 6 months old to participate. 6. You may not carry your dog while running. 7. Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog (or human) whose behavior is deemed to dangerous to others. 8. Clean up after your dog. Otto Armleder Park is located at 5059 Wooster Pike, 45226. I-71 N or S; Take Red Bank Road (exit 9) onto Red Bank Expressway toward Fairfax. Continue onto Red Bank Road, R onto Wooster Pike. Armleder Park is apprx 1.4 miles on the left.
