About the Arboretum: The Boone County Arboretum is open daily, free of charge, from dawn to dusk year-round. It contains more than 2,700 trees and shrubs. The collections will captivate everyone from the avid plantsman to the average homeowner. You will see specialized arrangements of plant families to obscure selections rarely observed by the public eye. The Arboretum encompasses 121 acres, and has over 2 miles of paved walking trails, winding through our various plant collections, woodland settings, and athletic fields. Three informational kiosks are located at the main trail entrances. Here you will find horticultural information, Extension class offerings, and our Arboretum map, all free to the public. Special attractions at the Arboretum include the Children’s Garden, a Wildlife Viewing area in our Native Kentucky Prairie, and a new Woodland Walking Trail (unpaved). Many species of birds are visible as well as many types of "woodland" animals. It's located 25 minute drive time southwest from downtown Cincinnati, OH and is Northern Kentucky's only arboretum.

5K RUN CATEGORIES: Male and Female: 15/under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70/over.

5K WALKERS: Male & Female: 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60/over. Walkers must walk the entire distance. Any participant who anticipates running part of the event must register as a runner.

Top 3 overall male and female runners and top 15% of each running and walking division based on pre-registration.

Register on Friday, April 16th: Late Registration and Packet pickup will be at the Boone County Extention Service from 4pm - 7pm. Race Day Prices apply.

Register on Saturday, April 17th (Race Day) at the Arboretum beginning at 7:30 am

Early Packet Pick-up and Late Registration is available on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Boone County Extension Service, 6028 Camp Ernst Road, Union, KY 41005 from 4-7 p.m.

Race-Day pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Arboretum.

From Interstate 75, take the KY. 18 exit (Exit 181) in Florence and head west towards Burlington. Travel approximately 3 miles and turn left onto Camp Ernst Road. Go 4.5 miles. Boone County Arboretum at Central Park is on the left. Plenty of FREE parking is available in the park.
